End of Winter and Welcoming Spring (Poland)

03.2020

Burning or drowning an effigy of Marzanna is an ancient Slavic ritual related to end of winter and rebirth of nature in spring.

The Open-Air Museum "Grodzisko w Sopocie" celebrates the ritual pastime outdoors. Children and grown-ups can make their own Marzanna and say farewell to the winter season at the bonfire.
